A glimps...

I think very few people know or understand how difficult life can be while playing professional basketball overseas.
And those few people who understand are the ones that have done it. I am not talking about the single guys who come play or the guys who leave there families to come play although I am sure that too can be difficult.
I am talking about a husband wife and kids.
Everything we have accumulated throughout Chris and I's entire life remains in a storage unit. four times a year we unpack, pack and repack and unpack. It's exhausting! I feel like my entire life I have been living out of a suitcase. Ok, not my entire life but since my mission and during Chris's entire basketball career I am and we will be living out of suitcases.
Sometimes the packing and being fugal
(so you can fit everything in your suitcase)
while at the same time
living in a foreign land,
eating foreign food,
speaking a foreign language, or in my case looking confusing while everyone speaks a foreign language to me.
shopping in foreign grocery stores
can be frustrating and difficult but
it's
saying
GOODBYE
that is not fun.
Sometimes you leave a place with tears in your eyes knowing you will never return.
Sometimes you leave a job having NO IDEA where you will be staying FOR the next 4 months or where you will be living IN the next 4 months.
Luckily we have amazing family that welcomes us into their homes every time we come to Utah.
Today we said goodbye to the incredible friends we made here in Hanau.
We will absolutely miss this place.
Our little White Wing family has a special place in our hearts.
So tonight and tomorrow morning we will be packing, weighing our bags thus resulting in unpacking and repacking balancing out that darn 50 lb limit.
Than we will be on a 12 hour flight to San Fran after we will board a smaller more crowded flight to SLC.
Oh joy (sarcasm)
Something about the smell of planes make me dizzy and light headed...yuck!
I am so anxious for the long flight but so overly excited to see our families and friends.

SUMMER HERE WE COME!!!
(this is the first summer Chris won't be in school)
Our options are endless.
road trips, family trips, camping, Disneyland...here we come!

I sure hope you had a safe and uneventful flight :) It sure isn't always a picnic doing this life over seas but summer is now here and you have all the possibilities in the world to enjoy the next few months! I hope you've gotten a head start on enjoying all the things we've missed. We'll be trying to catch up as much as we can when we get back!

See you soon, dear! Enjoy your time home :)

I love when people break it down and explain what their lives are like. I did that a few weeks ago about what doctors go through because you're right, most people have NO IDEA what it's like and usually they'll appreciate it more if you explain it. I'm so glad you get to go home for the summer. Have a wonderful trip! xo
