Halloween Reminiscing

I love Halloween. I have great Halloween memories from when I was little. My Mom would make all our costumes and they were grade A costumes the best of the best.
Around dusk after eating a bowl of Chili we would all hop in the van while my mom drove us around Provo city. My Mom would drop us off at the beginning of a block while my Dad briskly walked with us or maybe he would stay home and pass out candy, we would race from house to house trick-or-treating together. My Mom would drove along side us we would all pile back into the van at the end of the block and we would do it all over again. hahaha so awesome of my parents!!
We would hit up special houses like the dentist who gave away tooth brushes, the granny-B pink cookie house, Osmond lane, friends, grandparents, bishops, home teachers, etc.
With jack-o-lantern buckets filled to the brim we would make out way back home. My siblings and I would mark a territory on the carpet dump out all our candy and put them into categories for example, snickers, smarties, Halloween themed candy (chocolate eyeballs), candy bars and such. My Mom would put in Disney's Halloween, only the best Halloween cartoons ever and we would trade our loot one with another.

Those were some of the best times.

I am excited to carry on every single one of my families Halloween traditions.
(Note to self I have to find the old school Disney's Halloween on DVD)

For now we make the best of what we have been given.

Taimi wore a lady bug costume that my Mom and sister sent her.
We had to put it on her while she was taking a nap
otherwise there was NO WAY she would wear it! Yes folks she is two! :)

We were not sure if we had time to trick-or-treat because Chris has a early evening practice but decided for Taimi we needed to go. So we went trick-or-treating with some friends it was a great time. We couldn't trick-or-treat very long because Chris had
practice. So we stopped at McDonald's ate some delicious cheeseburgers.
I am not being sarcastic either I really think they are delicious.
Gave Daddy a kiss goodbye.
Taimi and I watched some Halloween cartoons and I laid her down.
Now Chris and I will cuddle up together with some top ramen, candy, and cookies and watch either, Monster House, Hocus Pocus, or Disney's Watcher in the Woods.

It was a great day especially considering they don't really recognize Halloween as a holiday.
Days like this I long to be home.
So all you Americans out there enjoy the walking, knocking and ringing of door bells. The buckets, pillow cases and strob lights, the screams, laughs, itchy costumes, wigs and excessive make-up. The smell of jack-o-lanterns (oh how I love that smell) the bread bowls full of soup, guessing whose dressed up as what, watching the kiddies run from house to house and especially the great times with family and friends all dressed up and festive. You don't know how lucky you are it's a fun holiday to be a part of.

Happy Halloween!!
